I've been around, here and there, but mostly not here, just there. And there. And mostly there.

Jane and Andrew's birthday dinner on Saturday night. It's been a mighty long time since we've taken over a restaurant like that. Very good times had by all.
Sharon continues to amaze me with her knowledge of all things food. Maybe not all things, but obscure things? She's got it covered.
I'm getting rolled in my NFL pool this year. It's very difficult to pick 5 games right, as well as cover the spread in all 5 to win the weekly prize.
Next Tuesday, Aimee, Riva (and some of her other friends) and I are going to see the New Kids on the Block. Oh yeah, that's right. New Kids.
Only 5.5 weeks till I'm done work for Christmas.
Only 5.5 weeks till I go to Seattle to see my football boyfriend play (and hopefully beat the pants off of the Seahawks)
George W Bush is a funny man. He's finally realizing that he should have used that filter between his brain and his mouth.

Looks like we'll be doing a weekly update for a while, until I get my schedule sorted out.

Green Bay WHAT!?!?!?!? 3-0 AND Brett Favre = teh awesome! If only I had satellite so I could watch their games instead of seeing only the highlights.
I had a kid in my grade 10 class bite another kid's nipple. Yes, you read that right. He bit another kid's nipple. That's all I got for tonight.
I was at Starbucks tonight. I overheard a guy condemning a woman to the fires of hell for not accepting Jesus into her heart. I also overheard a conversation between an addict and his sponsor. Based solely on what I heard tonight, if I had to choose between being an evangelical Christian and an addict, I'd be an addict. I could at least live with myself.
I read Mack's post for tonight, and saw this link, and decided I'm going to try to write some of them as well. I always have trouble coming up with stuff to write that people might be interested in, so maybe this will help.
Prison Break started on Monday. Slightly predictable, but now I understand why he's back in jail. I'm kind of waiting for him to pull the blueprints for this prison out of his ass.
Justin Wong is coaching volleyball at McNally. Good times indeed. Peanut gallery closed.

As you all know, I went to the Bon Jovi concert in Calgary last night with Kate, Mallory and Anna. I have never enjoyed a concert as much as I did last night (and I've been to some wicked concerts in the past...) Rather than a simple review, here's what happened on what is (so far) the best. day. ever.

Apparently we could have left at 10:30 because everyone was ready to go. None of us slept past 8 because we were so stinking excited. This was, after all...the man of ALL our dreams. After picking Anna up, meeting Kate at my house and gathering Mallory, we were off....to Tim Horton's. In South Common. For lunch. Kate documented pretty much the entire day (link at the end), so we'll remember it all.

After making it all the way to Red Deer without any violence in the backseat, we stopped at the Sawmill. Donut Mill. On (In? At?) Gasoline Alley, where they had the GREATEST donut ever. A Rolo donut, with Caramel Whipped Cream in the middle. I'm sure you're all SUPER interested in my drive down to Red Deer (and Calgary). Definitely got lost in Calgary, whatever, we got there.

Hotel was alright; SO not worth the $200 they charged us, but it was a place to stay with a DIRECT route to Stampede Park (aka no cabbies fooling us with long, convoluted rides home! I'm a thinker, but not a navigator.) Not going to lie, we most definitely would have slept in the car if we had to, because NOTHING was stopping us from seeing this show. Yadda yadda, get changed, cab to the Saddledome, random pictures of Stampede grounds (foot long hot dogs! long and loaded!), and we stopped at the beer gardens. Now, I like beer, and I like beer gardens. I don't, however, like Bud, and that's all we had. Yum. However, we took some pictures of ourselves with our tickets, before we even got in. We were so stinking excited that we decided to tell people we were from Mundare so that we wouldn't drag Edmonton's name through the mud. And it became a GREAT joke ("That's how we do it in Mundare", "In Mundare, our Denny's serves perogies"). Good times indeed. We bought shirts. For way too much money. But oh-so-fun. Mine says "You want to make a memory?" My answer is "Yes please, as often as possible."

ANYWAY, we were there for a concert. And man oh man was it awesome! Set list is as follows:

(Hallelujah) - this was one of the most beautiful arrangements of this song I've ever heard. And I almost cried. It was wonderful.

While I was disappointed that they didn't play "Always" or "Bed of Roses" I was thrilled with the set list. I can't imagine what it must be like to start your show with one of your biggest hits and have the crowd ALL sing with you. It was great. Let me tell you all that Jon Bon Jovi hasn't lost any of his appeal, no way, not at all. Not only is he stunningly attractive (can I get some of that?), he can still sing, and does it well. I've been a huge fan of these guys for a long time, and so when I heard they were coming, I was obviously not going to miss out. If you ever get the chance, go see them. It will be an experience you won't forget.

After the show, we decided to go to The Roadhouse, where Mallory met up with the boys she was sitting beside and got herself pregnant, all in one night (with our shirts under her shirt...don't worry). Hijinks and hilarity ensued, and we may or may not have gotten drunk. In any case, we ended up at Denny's, and had the best mozza sticks ever (that disappeared in about a minute). Anna was really excited about the food, see? Many laughs and Mundare jokes later, we went back to the hotel. More hilarity ensued, though I think the night was better than the morning. You be the judge.

There ends my recap of my road trip to Bon Jovi. And I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. (I also heard from a semi-reliable source that they're coming back in January. I'm so in....)

I knew it was too good to be true. I had been doing so well with the posting and stuff, but I've become sidetracked. I was also more or less unplugged for the weekend (minus the Twitter updates to my phone...) So without further ado....

Went to Fort McMurray for Todd's birthday. Fun times indeed, minus creepy roommate, though he was entertaining!!
Spent the weekend at Aimee's cabin with Wendy, Riva, Aimee and Ken. Have affectionately dubbed it Taco Time. Will put some pictures on Flickr shortly. Good times were had by all, especially the most inappropriate conversation ever. Carebears? ASTROBOY???
Got a contract extension until June 29. For all intents and purposes, I've been gainfully employed full time since October, and I don't hate it. Yet.
Boo Wings. Good effort in the third though. Much enjoyment. Go Sens!
Crossing Jordan (one of my TV guilty pleasures) ended on Wednesday. If they had more time to actually wrap things up, it'd have been better, but considering the finale was May 16th and the announcement came on May 14th...they did well. I'm gonna miss that show, if for no other reason than Jerry O'Connell (please tell me you all remember "My Secret Identity")
Saw Shrek on the weekend. Wasn't bad, though I thought #2 was WAAAAAAY better. However, it was entertaining.
Going to Pirates this weekend. Tres excited!

I think that's about it. I have more to say, but for now I'll leave you with a couple questions:

Fort McMurray Trip: Birthday Hijinks

I had a post all written, but it somehow disappeared on the internet.

Suffice to say, I drove to Ft. Mac yesterday for Todd's birthday. Hijinks and hilarity ensued, and it was good times. Hopefuly his head didn't hurt too much this morning, but I'm sure after abour 4 hours of sleep that's not even true.

Happy Birthday Todd! Hope you enjoyed it.

Not much to preface tonight. I've been busy. No days off for me until May 18th. I'm thrilled, can't you tell?

Went to Spider-Man 3 last night. Read what Mack has to say so I don't have to repeat it. Though I do concur with him about the need for a separate movie for Venom.
May Long Weekend is going to be fun times. If you'd like to join us, send me a message and tell me why. Or better yet, go to Aimee's blog and tell her you want to come.
Todd has a blog. I find it funny, yet oddly disconcerting. Can't quite explain that one. (Peanut gallery is closed on that one, folks. Thanks for coming out though.)
Pirates 3 soon! Trailer looks good, regardless of what Greg says. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
Shrek 3 also looks good. Can't wait for that one.

High School Memories

So I'm sitting in an IB History class, and it's their last one before exams. It sort of got me thinking about when I was in high school and what kind of stuff I remember from it.

I definitely remember not going to class during IB exams, except for Physics because Pike was a rockstar.
I remember making a giant map of Maycomb for the assignment in To Kill A Mockingbird, and Obe getting mad.
I remember yelling at Kelly McConnan about whether or not Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible was being a cold-hearted bitch in not taking her husband back after 7 months of apologies (she totally was a bitch).
Most of all I remember all the time we spent in the Tigers' Den, doing “SU Stuff” (you know, that mysterious stuff we had to do all day every day that prevented us from going to class, but we completely got away with it because we were awesome).

I didn't really take much of a break from blogging (unlike Mack), but I found that....wait for it....NO ONE comments on my stuff. I give up. I'm throwing in the towel.

I have tickets to Bon Jovi; you already knew that, but I felt it necessary to mention it again. I'm pretty stinking excited about it (imagine that).
Jane got us tickets to see Justin Timberlake (I think, anyways); I'm not the biggest fan of his, but I think he'll be putting on a ridiculously good show. It looks promising.
Detroit is still alive; I'm happy.
I've been having trouble sleeping; perhaps I should go to bed earlier than 12:30 and sleeping more than 6 hours. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
I was talking to my mom the other day about the need for a new arena downtown. I think that it's a good idea, insofar as it helps the team, but that taxpayers should not have to foot the bill. How do we pay for it? The city runs the parking. It's not a complete solution to the problem, but it's something.

I think that's all I've got.
