One thing I've noticed that's different between working in a “real” office and out at the plant is that there's a lot more smokers on the plant.  My co-worker (I share an office with him) smokes a pack a day everyday at the plant.  I'm not against people smoking - I mean smokers know what they're getting themselves into when they smoke.  Well since my co-worker is training me...I have to work around him a lot.  It's not so nice because he's smoking so much~  I mean..I'm getting 3rd hand smoke from him!!! I don't think I can call it 2nd hand because I'm not inhaling the smoke from his cigarette while he's smoking...but because he smokes so much...I'm inhaling the smoke from him when he's finished smoking. :-S  I'm trying to get around the smell by eating candy at work...I'm hoping the candy will overlap the smell of his cigarettes. lol ^.^

When I met up with my friend the other weekend in Edmonton (we went to see Shrek 2...so good by the way!) I was trying to describe to her how I work.  I mean I don't get a cafeteria and there's no shops or coffee shops to go to during your break.  Well, it's like the Simpsons...and how everyone works at the plant.  In the morning, we have buses that ship us to the plant and buses that ship us back after work...a shift of our Ft. Mac population between 2 locations...plant-home-plant-home, etc. She thinks it sounds like prison!

When I was younger, I actually thought my dad worked in a “homer-like” environment at the plant. *lol*  I saw my dad in a picture in a room filled with little knobs, switches and buttons at work.  Actually, during our Safety orientation, the co. made us watch a video.  They mentioned how an individual had brought in a “deformed” fish and had it checked out at the plant (they said it was due to natural causes)...but the 1st thing that popped into my head was that fish with 3 eyes from the Simpsons. ^.^
